I have put together here quite an array of events in many different categories. I hope that there is something that please your adventurous spirit and compels you to search in your own backyard for things to do. There are food events, go figure, and some unique events like an Illuminated parade,  a Civil War weekend and a Dogwood Festival; even a spring sale on car parts! As the weather gets nicer and the days get longer, I invite you to get out and appreciate the wonderful events that take place everywhere!

Kiwanis Crawfest-Shrimp Boil Festival, Alvin, TX 4/30

The Annual Crawfest is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Alvin. The funds raised at this activity by the Alvin Kiwanis Club all go to support the projects listed on the back of this brochure. The days activities will be held downtown in Alvin’s beautiful National Oak Park.

Taste of Asbury Park, Asbury Park, NJ 4/30

Summer can’t be far away when Taste of Asbury Park rolls out along Cookman Avenue. Sponsored by the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce. • 16+ Asbury Park Restaurants • Children’s face painting, stilt walker and games! • Craft vendors and local artists!

Astoria-Warrenton Crab and Seafood Festival, 4/29-5/1

Since 1983, features a beer garden, over 40 Oregon wineries, 80 booths filled with regional artisans displaying a dazzling array of arts and craft works. Also munch on fresh crab, seafood and other delicious treats.

Florida Heritage Festival Grand Parade, Bradenton, FL 4/30

The final signature event of the Florida Heritage Festival, the parade is a local tradition. The month long festival culminates with 100,000 plus visitors lining the streets to enjoy the floats and the entertainment.

Spring Jamboree, Boulder City, CO 4/30-5/1

Since 1978, 80+ craft booths from all over the country, great food, music and entertainment, car show, Bark in the Park dog show, lots of children’s activities and family fun. Takes place in Events in Bicentennial Park, Wilbur Square and Escalante Park North as well.

Civil War History Weekend, Buchanan, VA 4/29-5/1

You and your family are invited to explore one of the lesser known sites of the War between the States in downtown Buchanan. History comes alive in downtown Buchanan. Hear the roar and feel the ground shake as Civil War Cannons echo across the Shenandoah Valley.

Tomato Festival, Chalmette, LA 4/29-5/1

Since 1952. The festival features 5K Race and fun run,, baby contest, Tomato Queen Pageant, arts and crafts, music, kids activities, food, amusement rides, and of course featuring the beloved tomato.

Spring Carlisle Carlisle, PA 4/27-5/1

Since 1977, auto hobbyists yearn to throw off the winter doldrums and enjoy their collector vehicles. The collector car swap meet and car corral fill the entire 82 acres with more than 3,000 automotive vendors and more than 1,800 cars for sale.

Buc Days Illuminated Night Parade Corpus Christi, TX 4/30

Since 1942, a lighted parade that is the culmination of Buccaneer Days with over 5,000 participants. The parade is 150 units strong and follows a three mile path across town. Fun for the whole family and one of the most beautiful lighted parades you will ever see.

Denton Arts and Jazz Festival Denton, TX 4/29-5/1

Since 1981, 1,300+ musicians, artists and performers, come hear great jazz along with the best pop, rhythm and blues and cross cultural music. The park setting includes 6 stages, 220+ booths, juried arts and crafts, children’s art tent, community/school entertainment, food games and clowns.

Fayetteville Dogwood Festival Fayetteville, NC 427-5/1

With approximately 30 different events including everything from sporting events to concerts, street dances to children’s events, the festival maintains a “something for everyone” philosophy.
