Celebrate What?

In the US every weekend, some area is celebrating something silly. I don’t mean silly so much as maybe unusual. Take for instance this weeks selection Sauerkraut Days. There really aren’t many places outside of Germany that get excited about sauerkraut but somehow it works in Ackely, IA. Just like the Mosquito Festival works in Clute TX and  the Garlic Festival works in Gilroy, CA, locations are really proud of some interesting things. In this country we have no lack of imagination or lack of appreciation for a home grown reason to celebrate. This week and all throughout the summer, there will be many festivals celebrating the unique, the silly, the ridiculous and even the wonderful. Just know that if you feel like celebrating almost anything, most likely there is a place where you can find it.
