This upcoming week, the schedule includes some terrific events all around the U.S. It seems that many of them center around arts, crafts, antiques and music. If you have never visited a major art festival, I invite you to do so this weekend. The artists have tremendous talents in various different media. Most art festivals make it mandatory that the artist be on site and even more encourage the artist to demonstrate their talent right at their booths. It can be quite an experience to witness these talented individuals and see the very beautiful and moving art that they produce. If you think that these could not possibly be artists in the true sense of the word, several of this weekends shows will feature 10’s of millions of dollars worth of art. I know, I was surprised too when I attended my first true art show many years ago. If none of these shows are in your area, as always, please use the search box above close to your backyard!
I had already included the Asbury Park Jazz Festival prior to the death of Clarence Clemmons this weekend. It seems even more poignant now. For those of you who do not know this, the E-Street Band is a native son of Asbury Park. I would think that the festival will have special meaning this week for those fans of the Big Man and some rather strong memories as well.
