I took a look at some of the events we have this coming week and one thing stuck out in my mind, longevity. There are no events showcased this week that are not at least 50 years in tradition. Some of the fairs listed are well over 100 years old. Think about that. Three of fairs I have chosen this week began before the U.S. Civil War! It would definitely be worth a closer look at exactly what makes the events that have been around as long as these, be around as long as these. Do they have some magical secret to their long term success? Normally I would say it’s the management, however I seriously doubt any of the original management is still around. Maybe it’s the management philosophy that has endured. Maybe it’s that people, even 100 years later, still like to have fun, without computers, facebook and twitter. Whatever it is, I am sure all of these events are worth the trip. Make your weekend plans now. If none of these events are near you, check the search box to see what events with longevity take place near you.
