Music is in the Air

Right now in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, one of the very best music festivals in the world is taking place. For those of you who do not know, it’s Musikfest. The event lasts for 9 days and hosts over 300 bands/musicians giving over 1000 performances. It really has something for every musical style and preference. I have attended this event many times and I am always impressed by the many great musical attractions as well as the other activities and delicious food they serve. I highly recommend it to people of all ages. I have also included some music events that I think people might be surprised to note, no pun intended, ok well maybe. There are outdoor music concerts taking place all over this the U.S, everyday, during the summer months. And although they do not rival Musikfest for numbers of performers or attendees, they are very special local concerts that help to draw communities together. The ones that I have listed here take place on a regular basis over a month, say every Tuesday in August, or every Sunday, June through September. Concerts in the park, on the beach, at the town square etc; there are also lunch time brown bag concerts downtown, evening concerts by the lake, lazy Sunday afternoon musical entertainment in the town gazebo. You only have to look as close as your very own community to find some of these terrific outdoor experiences. So put the iphone and ipod down, grab a lawn chair and get out there. If you do not see any outdoor concerts near you, please use the search box to find some in your own backyard.
