The Signs of Spring are Everywhere

Well, it’s here, the seasonal sensation, Spring. It happens every year but it never seems to grow old for many people. This rite of Spring; this growth/birth nature cycle; this wonderful beginning.  Hardly quite so melodious or lyrical in the events world but it is none the less a beginning for sure.

Repeating cycles, like the seasons changing, are good. They give us a sense of moving forward and a sense of comfort at the same time. The sign of spring when I was a kid  was blooming forsythias, now as an adult it’s events taking place. The events highlighted here are the beginning of our shift to more outdoor events in theme and location. This is as much a rite of spring’s arrival as Spring Training is about the beginning of baseball season. Now I know that sounds a little dramatic but what it boils down to is actually this week marks the first step into the events high season. It won’t kick into full gear for a few months yet, but the signs are all there that it is coming very soon.

This week I have a few events featured that, by their very name, are a sign of the season. Boise Flower and Garden Show, Novi Backyard, Pool and Spa Show, Capital District Garden and Flower Show, Kansas City Home, Flower and Garden Festival, Miami Spring Home Remodeling Show and the Flagstaff Home and Garden Show. All of these events make you sit up and say, I think I need to start getting my yard in order for outdoor fun. That thought leaves me not nearly as calm as I just said it there.

I won’t name the other events I have chosen not because they aren’t special, because they are, but because they are listed at the bottom. It all means we have rounded the corner from inside activities to outside activities and events are leading the way. If there is nothing taking place near you on this list, please use the search box above to find fun things to do in your backyard. Wherever you go or whatever you do, make plans to get out and make some great memories this week.
