FASHIONS NIGHT OUT

Fashion’s Night Out turns 4! In 2009, Vogue magazine created Fashion’s Night Out in New York The following year, it spread to Russia and England, and now, the event happens in more than 100 cities across the globe.

Marking the beginning of Fall and giving us a reasons to shop i.e., special limited-edition products, celebrity appearances, and unforgettable performances, FNO 2012 is promising to be even bigger and better than before!

Let’s be honest, the extra perks is what this night is all about.

Join editors, stars, models, fashionistas, and designers on September 6, 2012, as they flood stores in cities across the country and around the world for fashion’s most iconic extravaganza. This year we’ll be treated to, among others, Kim Kardashian, Azealia Banks, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Port, Alexa Chung, Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie.

TED BAKER

LORD & TAYLOR-Lord & Taylor has loaded up on celebrities this year, with events featuring Kim Kardashian, reality star Jill Zarin, and ice skater and Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi at the company’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue and 39th Street. The store’s events promise to come complete with free jewelry, complimentary tote bags and a free 2013 New York City Firefighter’s Calendar, signed by one of New York’s Bravest.

HENRI BENDEL– (another favorite of mine) will bring the circus to town at its Fifth Avenue flagship store. Cirque du Soleil’s “Zumanity” promises to dazzle spectators with five free acrobatic performances. Along with the Las Vegas-like performance, the store will feature a casino night theme with Swarovski crystal giveaways and cocktails.

CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF THE ARTS – Join the Children’s Museum of the Arts for a fashionable and funky workshop. CMAs Teaching Artist Caroline McAuliffe will guide you in an exploration of textiles and design project. Using fabrics and paper, create unique headpiece, belts, pins and necklaces.

The fourth annual Fashion’s Night Out event will take place on September 6. This is fashion’s biggest retail event of the year where fashionistas and fashionistos everywhere go out and celebrate shopping and their love of fashion. Started in 2008 in New York, last year it was featured in 18 different countries and there were more than 4,500 events here in the USA alone. Stores roll out their red carpets providing great deals, open bars, delectable treats, celebrity hosts, music performances, and more! We have selected some of the must do events for this years Fashion Night Out across a few cities in North America. Keep an eye out for next week when we select our picks of events to attend in New York. There are literally over 1000 events to choose from.

The Gallery Los Angeles will transform Beverly Hills Porsche into a must-do event that will include an elite fashion show with some of L.A.’s most revered designers, including Anthony Franco and Dina Bar El. Little Black Dress Vodka, Lovoka and Diabolo will be offering a stocked open bar, and lucky guests will also have the opportunity to have one-on-one time with top beauty experts from title sponsor Wella Professionals and cosmetic sponsor Napoleon Perdis, at their beauty bars.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former superstar stylist Andrea Lieberman (responsible for Jennifer Lopez wearing the iconic Donatella Versace green palm print chiffon gown at the Grammy’s) will host an event at Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills. While there get a chance to meet designers, shop the latest collections, and enjoy mini-makeovers, sweet treats, champagne, music, and more.

LAS VEGAS
Sin City has become a world-class shopping destination boasting more than one million square feet of luxury retail space. The Shoppes at The Palazzo will host a FNO affair featuring fashion expert, celebrity stylist and co-host of E!’s “Fashion Police,” George Kotsiopoulos. The public event will take place from 6-8 P.M. near the Chloe rotunda. Notable highlights include a $1,000 shopping spree, a Q&A session with Kotsiopoulos, a selection of top fall picks from retailers at The Shoppes, and a chance to win a trip for two to Hawaii.

Emmy Award-winning fashion visionary Patricia Field will bring her design prowess to Crystals at City Center. The legendary stylist, renowned for her work with Sarah Jessica Parker in “Sex and the City” and Meryl Streep in “The Devil Wears Prada,” will join top designers and local charities from 6-11 P.M. Crystals will offer unique in-store and destination-wide experiences, feature performances from Nevada Ballet Theatre, and spotlight the hottest looks with models strolling the center dressed in the latest fall fashions.
MIAMI
Just outside the Miami city limits, the suburban Aventura Mall will be hosting events But the most exciting event appears to be the one at Macy’s; Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York’s Jill Zarin will host a fall fashion show at 6:30 P.M. and offer some customers the chance to meet her personally. Real Housewives of Miami’s Adriana De Moura will host a shopping party, celebrity DJ Irie will keep them music pumping all night.

Zingara Swimwear  on the second level will serve free champagne, an espresso bar and Stella’s Sweet Shoppe cupcakes. A Blow Dry Bar will offer styling tips from Blomedry.com, and Zingara shoppers will receive a pair of free sandals if they spend $200 or more.

THE DISTRICT FACTORY will connect FNO fans with Miami’s emerging designers and creatives manufacturing today’s hottest trends. Offering “A Glimpse Behind the Assembly Line”, what’s in stock includes art, jewelry, apparel, vintage, and more. This special factory affair includes shopping,meet and greets with local designers, live music, specialty cocktails and bites, and giveaways. From 6-11 P.M.

TORONTO
FNO is finally coming to Toronto and its hippest retailers have signed up for events. Among them is Holt Renfrew who will be celebrating its 175th birthday this year with its “Hot in the City” street party from 7-10 P.M. It will include an outdoor film premiere to kick off the film festival season, live entertainment, special window animation, giveaways, and shopping treats. Among the collection for its 175th birthday are specially designed pieces from Christian Louboutin, Bobbi Brown, and Michael Kors for sale; all in Holt Renfrew’s signature color of magenta.
