Foodies Rejoice!

Never one to shy away from a challenge, I was tasked with finding food events this week. (I like to say it was a challenge but…) and so the “foodie” in me made an appearance. That’s right, I am admitting this week. I am a foodie.( I know you are all shocked, lol) A “foodie” is a person who more than just likes food, they are a person who indulges in the “art” of food. It’s not just eating, it’s everything about food. “Foodies” love the ingredients, the recipes, the preparation and the indulgence. So in the name of all “foodies” I have selected food and drink events this week. Drink is usually included in the foodie definition because they are so closely aligned but I really know very little about the art of fine wine and liquor.

So I have selected a variety of events that have a focus on food and drink this week. They aren’t the biggest food events or most highly attended, but they have some really good food and drink to give comfort in the winter. Let’s start off with the Chocolate Lover’s Festival which although sounds like it was designed just for me, it was not. Delicious chocolate tastings are the order of the day at this event so I am checking my schedule to see if I can find my way to Fairfax this weekend. I also have highlighted three festivals featuring 100’s of different wines at each. They also have tastings and seminars on all things wine. Next up are two seafood festivals serving everything a seafood lover could possibly want to eat and enjoy.  There is the Great Arizona Beer Festival, the Parke County Maple Syrup Festival and the final weekend of Restaurant Week in Orange County. And last but certainly not least the World’s Longest Weenie Roast in Cable Wisconsin for those who appreciate food with a whimsical spin. All of these are making me hungry!

As always, these events represent things going on all around the U.S. It is my job to highlight some events that will be taking place this week to give you some ideas of what might be going on around you. So this weekend, I bet you could find some delicious food or drink events in your backyard by using the search box above. I like to grab a friend and head out to events every chance I get and this weekend I am sure I will find something food centric to visit near my own backyard! At least I will keep looking until I do!
